By practising this list of self-improvement habits you can go from where you are to where you want to be. So, let’s get started;
1- How to improve yourself– Be your own best friend
If you are thinking about how can I be successful in life? Or how do you gain self-confidence? Then start with this one. As clichéd as it might sound, but this is the first step to improving yourself. Be kind to yourself and be your own best friend. You spend the most time with yourself and you should learn to enjoy it as well. All of us have expectations for ourselves. We want to achieve big goals. But during that journey when we face a single setback or challenge we doubt ourselves for our incompetencies. This leads to self-loathing and negative self-talk. However, if you aim for high you are bound to face challenges along the way. You should learn from the failures instead of blaming yourself over and over. Take it as a learning opportunity and you will outgrow your potential.
Just imagine, if your friend goes through a setback would you be blaming him or consoling him? You wouldn’t constantly talk down to your friend right! Then why do you do it to yourself? If you keep on playing the negative tapes again and again you’ll be influenced by it. You can’t take any substantial action in life when you keep on doubting yourself. Hence, if you want to improve yourself you be your own best friend first. Believe in your goals and dreams and the world will follow suit.

Something that fascinates you but you haven’t tried it yet. Be it a new sport like football, skating, or horse riding. Or any recreational hobby which requires you to work and enhance your skillset. Like painting, sketching, graphic designing, or anything that interests you.
So, why am I insisting on trying a new hobby after all? Well, with the quarantine came a lot of spare time which got me thinking, how can I improve myself constantly? One day I bought some paints, a sketchbook, and opened a beginner’s painting video tutorial. I followed the steps to the tee. It was a disaster though, but I enjoyed every bit of it. Since that day I have made countless landscape paintings and sketches. I am getting better with each try, which I am proud of! It makes you such an attractive and trusted person. With empathy and understanding comes kindness. But, before being kind to others make sure you are kind to yourself first. Make sure you got your own back. Whether you are thinking, how to improve yourself professionally, or to improve yourself at work, this is the one trait that will differentiate you from others. Focus on the positives in life. Count your blessings and practice gratitude. Forgive yourself if something doesn’t go as planned. Forgive yourself if you made a mistake. Here is how you can deal with failure!
